I live in a very dry area and the eyes are always fighting to remain moist. Of course, the eyedrops are a constant especially when I also work in front of a computer for 8-10 hours a day. I go with the neutral eye tears replacement type eyedrops.
The only ones I never use are the popular Visine brand. They’re inconsistent, at least for me and burn like crazy. The way they “get the red out” is to constrict the blood vessels in the eye. It fixed the symptom of red eyes but doesn’t correct the problem oh well….
